It sounds it can do similar things as our truck. Definitely keep us posted about the progress you make.
And thank you for the positive feedback on our blog! It makes us happy to hear that it’s received the way we had hoped it would.

Looking forward to hear more from you!

Happy travels,
Nicole & Elmer

My wife and I have done a number of overland travels all in continental US and all in 4×4. We are in the process of researching to build our new BFT. Since we are US based finding models like the Unimog are near impossible due to US customs. We had our eyes set on a Zetros and gave up. But now we are closing in on a new chassis. We have discovered the Western Star 4800.

This vehicle may vet we’ll be as capable as the Unimog, but able to register it in US. The chassis will be custom built to our specs and will either be a 4×4 or 6×6. In either case we will be able to lock out each of the axles in combination or together.

Our camper body will be custom too and built by Global Expedition Vehicles in Nexus Missouri. We’ll keep you posted as we go.

Geoff

You guys are true globetrotters. You have seen every continent except Australia. I suppose you could give good advice on all aspects of long time travelling. Enjoy your next trip to the max. Hug Rob
