The Fitzwilliam Wentworth Estate, in South Yorkshire, is our first stop after arriving in the UK*. Two very kind people, Barry and Marilyn, invited us here.
Wentworth Estates
Today the estates – approximate 15,000 acres today – are scattered around Wentworth Park. It’s in Wentworth Park where you can also admire the Big House, as the locals call it, or the Wentworth Woodhouse. It likely received its name after the William Wynthwort or Winterworth (later Wentworth) married Emma, the daughter of William Wodehouse of ‘Woodhous’ in the 13th century.

Oil change
During our days in Wentworth we discover that Barry knows a lot about cars, trucks and lorries. When he hears that our truck needs an urgent oil change, he immediately offers to help. Under the watchful eyes of his dogs – probably figuring out which tool or glove will be their next “fetch” toy, the two guys get into action.
